The Training

In this course - created by yoga seniors, occupational therapists and teachers you’ll gain the in-depth skills, knowledge and confidence you need to teach yoga and mindfulness to our Generation Z. This course is perfect for PSHE and PE support in schools. Our tools and techniques for physical and mental fitness are easy to learn and inspirational to teach.

Inspirational Classes - our experience is teaching teen yoga and mindfulness in an interesting, engaging and relevant way, so we will provide you with heaps of ideas and content but we will also teach you classes that you can take home and teach. The focus is on the most important themes for teens of self-calm, self-belief, self-care, positivity, strength and connection.

Good Practise – the experience of teaching teen yoga should be grounded in relevant, interesting, inspirational and safe content. Teen yoga classes should be carefully constructed to be inclusive, safe, meaningful, physical and mindful.

Teaching Methodology and Structure – the building blocks of every class. Teen yoga classes will have an emphasis on PE and PSHE: physical health, mental health and emotional health. Within each lesson plan will be aspects of carefully chosen class theme and focus, breathwork, mindfulness, warm-ups, physical poses and postures, relaxation and guided meditation.

Anatomy and Physiology – teaching a safe class. Written by our inspirational and experienced Occupational Therapist who specialises in providing OT to schools, we look at the basic safe teaching needed from a body awareness perspective. Covering the muscular and skeletal body, core strength, core motor skills and featuring yoga asana to assist the teen body in its natural development. We also study basic physiology, systems of the body and offer helpful poses and postures to promote great health.

Neurodiverse Children - These practices are great for all young people, including those needing particular attention to reassuring the nervous system and sensory systems. There are many studies which show how proprioceptive exercise like yoga, breathwork and mindfulness can really help stabalise and calm young adults on the spectrum.

Yoga philosophy, lifestyle, ethics and making your classes relevant to our generation z – exploring the Yogic values of peace, truth, honesty, liberation, contentment, willpower, insight, resilience and compassion. With teen yoga we use inspirational quotes, poetry, music, physics and philosophy to ask the big questions and provide meaningful discussion and interesting self-study. We then put it all into a yoga practise with purpose.

Getting Practical – there will be plenty of practical study. There will also be demonstration of safe teaching during the contact hours.

Getting Started - Learn what it takes to start your own business, and how to do it, from the ZenMuma/ Kids/ Teens consultants who have been running successful complementary health businesses, yoga centres and retreats for over 10 years.

If you are already in a school, social or educational framework then you can get started straight away!
