Yoga For Pregnancy & Beyond

It all started when…

Our founder realised she was pregnant 19 years ago.

A TV Executive at the time, she attended the local NHS antanatal classes and was disappointed in the content. The only advice she received was which pain-relief to use.

When she entered labour in week 36 she was further disappointed with the labour management and guidance she received. She ended up having a c-section, feeling disempowered and bewildered.

She vowed that would never happen to her again. Little did she know how much this conscious decision would effect her whole life.

Jackie Heffer training students in how to teach yoga classes

You can read more about Jackie here, but fundamentally Jackie went on to train in hypnobirthing, pregnancy yoga, baby yoga, postnatal yoga, baby massage, pregnancy massage, kids yoga, teen yoga, Autism yoga and hatha yoga.

Jackie set up classes in all these disciplines in her local area of Norwich, Norfolk.

After teaching thousands of mums, babies, children, teachers, over the space of 15 years, she set up the ZenMuma, ZenKids and ZenTeens training school in 2018.

With the help of a tribe of experts in occupational health, physiotherapy, childrens education, midwifery and wellbeing she wrote the training programmes for all these disciplines and so far has trained over 250 women from around the UK and even the world (we have trainees in Norway and Thailand!).

She has also trained teachers in childrens and teen yoga and mindfuless from 35 different schools, with more planned this year.

Jackie is also a social analyst and is currently engaged in an MA at the prestigous UEA in Global Social Development.

We now have ZenMuma and ZenKids classes running throughout the UK and - driven by demand - the number of classes we deliver is growing every year.

Each class has been mindfully, carefully constructed by Jackie and her team of professional experts, to make sure the best, most knowledgeable, most vaulable, content is taught by our professional teachers.

Our teachers care about health and safety from an anatomy and physiology perspective, and they also care about the each individual who enters our doors from a holistic perspective. Each and every individual who walks into a ZenMuma or ZenKids class is important.

We are also very proud to announce our not-for-profit CIC company ‘Freedom Wellbeing Projects’ and are very pleased that this year we have funding to provide yoga and wellbeing workshops to schools in our local community.

Our aim is to inspire and serve our communities with teaching yoga, breathwork, positive mindset and mindfulness for the greater good of all.

Our mission, to help change the world for the better, one breath at a time.
