We would love to bring ZenKids into your school,
mindfulness and movement to your children.

Specialist programme designed for tots, right up to teens. Early Years, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and above.

The body loves movement, the mind loves stillness – how to manage and balance the both is the essence of ZenKids.

Founded by Jackie Heffer-Cooke, and supported by  Education Consultant, 
Hannah Betts & Children's  Occupational Therapist, Nicola Albert-Worman.

The Team

ZenKids is a movement and mindfulness programme which focuses on developing functional and motor skills in children and encouraging a positive mindset and improved mental health, while complementing the curriculum aspects. 

Harvard medical school, amongst many others, have shown that yoga and mindfulness have been shown to improve both physical and mental health in school age children. 

Movement and mindfulness improves balance, strength, endurance and aerobic activity in children.

A growing body of research also shows us that regular movement and balance in school age children helps improve focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance and even classroom behaviour.

Taught with mindfulness, it can even reduce stress and anxiety in children, leading to improved mental health. 

We understand that the benefits of yoga are vast, but we want to teach yoga-based movement and mindfulness in a way that is appropriate to school children in our country.


ZenKids Movement and Mindfulness Programme Promotes
Learning, Community and Togetherness.

ZenKids is fun, co-creative, full of adventure, story-telling, and includes such worthwhile activities as time and space travel, and world exploration!

As a member of our founding team is a qualified teacher, we can relate the movement-led story-telling to present key stage learning, either including dragons, plants, frogs or Egyptians, depending on where you are in your curriculum.

ZenKids also involves community and togetherness. We do lots of group and partner work where we can weave in themes of trust, honesty, contentment and support through mindfulness. 


Foundation Stage/ Nursery and Reception

We recognise that early years teacher’s assessments are based around observations and in a busy school day it can be difficult to observe all areas of the curriculum and capture the moment of the individual child to document. Through having a ZenKids teacher carrying out classes this will enable the teacher to observe and capture the moment to add to the child’s learning journey.

By the very nature of ZenKids, and with our yoga-through storytelling techniques, many of the prime and specific areas are targeted such as: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, and Expressive Arts and Design.


We continue the ethos of the EYFS in all the above focusing towards what it means holistically to be a child and how we can best encourage our children to continue to be the best versions of themselves.

We continue to use story-telling and imaginative devices throughout.


We develop the concepts of key stage one and enjoy and explore the ideas and feelings of ‘growing up’ and self development, emotionally, physically and mentally.


We continue with all our learning within key stage two but move into more sophisticated ideas of self- development.

Our programme is all based around these fours C’s, working together to encourage and support each other

ZenKids Pathways

1. Professionally trained ZenKids teachers come into your school and teach classes, giving teachers time to observe their students, or to do PPA.
2. ZenKids can train your teachers, tutors or support staff to be a qualified ZenKids teacher, with ongoing support through video lesson plans and regular guidance.  
3. We provide lunch-time or after-school sessions with our own qualified, and DBS checked ZenKids teachers.
